QUBE Volunteer Centre is providing supported volunteering opportunities for BBO participants. Volunteering has been proven to be beneficial to individuals to develop skills, gain confidence, give a sense of purpose and experience work in a supportive environment.
QUBE Volunteer Centre has a large database of available volunteering opportunities, examples of which include administration, outdoor conservation, driving, retail, care and much more.
The Volunteering Officers support prospective volunteers to identify their interests and skills and then find a volunteering opportunity to suit them. If the Volunteer is going to remain in the opportunity and enjoy it, it is important they have this initial one-to-one support.
The Officers then make the introductions to the organisations and accompany the person to start volunteering. Participants are accompanied and supported until each feels sufficiently confident to volunteer on their own.
QUBE Volunteering Officers remain in touch with the volunteer as a single point of contact in case they need more support, if issues arise or if the placement doesn’t work out, to find other opportunities for them.
