Shropshire Housing Alliance (SHA) seeks to improve the employment prospects of local residents, through access to work placement opportunities, apprentice vacancies and volunteer opportunities, along with one to one support with CV writing, job applications, interview skills and confidence building. Under the BBO Shropshire project, SHA are happy to engage with all local communities, and will also work closely with the Wrekin Housing Trust to promote services to their tenants. Eligible residents will, with support, access work placements, voluntary and training opportunities.
The project also aims to engage with local tenants affected by current welfare reform changes such as the benefit cap and roll out of Universal Credit.
Activities may include:
• Initial Assessment to identify individual needs and aspirations.
• Identifying skills that may need to be developed including literacy, numeracy & digital skills.
• Developing a personal development plan to identify goals and areas to achieve in. Providing one to one and group support and advice to enable participants to achieve and become more confident and self-assured.
• Access to training and development opportunities to overcome barriers to employment and develop existing and learn new skills.
