Building Better Opportunities Herefordshire Project Has First Partnership Meeting!

Building Better Opportunites in Herefordshire

Thanks to funding from the Big Lottery and European Social Fund, Landau is helping to erode barriers faced by the most disadvantaged people in Herefordshire. Delivering tailored support through a partnership of 11 organizations to those aged 19 or older, Landau hopes to further Herefordshire skills; instilling confidence and enabling disadvantaged individuals to move forward into employment.

New Beginnings…

The project began in January this year prioritizing support within the Marches to socially excluded groups that find getting into employment particularly difficult. Care responsibilities, language and health barriers, poor access to internet services and deficiency in basic skills such as IT, maths and English affect many individuals supported by the project.
  

First Partnership Meeting…

The inaugural partnership meeting took place on Wednesday 17th January 2018 bringing together 11 organizations that have committed to improving the quality of life in the Herefordshire community in a sustainable way.
 
Partners, led by Landau, include; Nationwide Community Learning Partnership, South Wye Development Trust, HVOSS, Vennture, Marches Energy Agency, Red Spark Learning,Herefordshire Wildlife Trust, Hope Support Services and Herefordshire County Council.
 
Partners will be supporting each other in providing local services that build confidence, knowledge and skills through learning, training mentoring and voluntary opportunities, to ensure that individuals’ needs are fully met by the program.
  

Spurred on by the success of BBO Shropshire Program…

The BBO Herefordshire project is encouraged by the positive results achieved by the BBO Shropshire program, also led by Landau, which has exceeded targets to support people into work during its first year.
