Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) is a broad term describing the support needed by people to help them make decisions about their future. ‘Information, Advice and Guidance is an umbrella term that covers a range of activities and interventions that help people to become more self-reliant and better able to manage their personal and career development, including learning.
The provision of accurate, up to date and objective information about personal and lifestyle issues, learning and career opportunities, progression routes, choices, where to find help and advice, and how to access it.
The provision of advice through activities that help people to gather, understand and interpret information and apply it to their own situation.
The provision of specialist support to help people understand themselves and their needs, confront barriers, resolve conflicts, develop new perspectives and make progress.
What we do
Landau has qualified/trained, helpful and friendly advisers, who provide impartial support to service users in all aspects of their journey including:
- Change of career discussions
- Advice & guidance discussions
- Support with application, assessment & interview processes
- Progression onto another level or a new course
- Help with CV & job interview skills
- Signposting to relevant Learner Services department within the college or to reliable and appropriate providers
- Issues with timetable/attendance
- Pastoral support
- General learning needs
