Natasha – Work Choice

Natasha joined the Work Choice programme as a result of being unemployed and suffering from a nervous condition which caused her to lack confidence and suffer from low self-esteem.

Outcome:- Position in a care home in Erdington

After undergoing both one to one and group sessions at Landau, Natasha felt that she was in a position to enter the job market. Her goal was to find a job in the care sector where she already had some experience and a level 2 NVQ.

Having produced an up to date CV, the next step was to target care providers within a commutable distance of her home. A list of care homes was produced and used to mail out copies of her CV along with a covering letter. Within a few days replies started to come in and she was soon attending interviews. A local care home were impressed with her CV and even more impressed by her performance at the interview, so much so that they offered her a position which she accepted.

This is what she has to say: 'My time at Landau has really helped me, I was really scared of the thought of getting back into work. When I started Landau I was really nervous and I didn't want to go, but I am happy I did because now, I have a job in a care home. They helped me gain confidence for my interview, everyone at Landau is really nice, they helped and supported me. I feel more confident and happy to start my job and it's nice to know that Landau will be still supporting me whilst at work. Everyone made me comfortable and they all helped when I got nervous. Thank you so much for your help'
