The Landau Marches Construction Ready Partnership has been selected by CITB to continue providing support services to the construction industry throughout Shropshire & Herefordshire.

After successfully completing Phase 1 of the Marches Construction Ready Partnership (MCR), Landau has been awarded Phase 2 funding to provide a full HR & recruitment service to the construction industry in Shropshire and Herefordshire, as it ramps back up following the Covid 19 lockdown.

For construction companies, the MCR program can supply construction workers and staff at all levels from Labourer to Site Management, from Office Admin to Finance Manager. Both employed and self-employed trades are available including brick layers, carpenters, roofers, plasterers, painters and decorators, etc. The programme is being managed by local Supported Employment Organisation Landau across Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, and Herefordshire.

Sonia Roberts, CEO of Landau said:

This is a great opportunity for the construction industry to replace workers and sub-contractors who may not return to construction after the Covid crisis. It also allows successful companies to grow and take advantage of the many opportunities the post lockdown period presents.

Landau has the knowledge of the Shropshire and Herefordshire areas, understands the needs of the local developers, housing associations and contractors and has 25 yearsexperience of delivering similar programmes of support. We look forward to seeing the positive impact of the programme across our local communities.”

For potential employees and sub-contractors, Landau can provide training opportunities, on-site experience, qualifications, skills and a fully supported route to your chosen career. Landau has extensive contacts within the construction industry and is always seeking new talent. So whether you are fully experienced, unemployed and seeking a temporary or permanent role, changing careers, would like to start an apprenticeship or simply want to make a flying start into construction, the MCR program can help. All support is fully funded and free of charge.

The programme will run from June 2020 until September 2021.

CITB Director of Policy Steve Radley said:

“Congratulations to everyone who has worked so hard to make the Landau Marches Construction Ready Partnership such a success, helping local people get Employment Site Ready and in many cases finding work in the industry. The fact that The Marches has been chosen as one of 14 hubs to be a part of CSF 2 is testament to this hard work. As the country emerges from the Covid-19 pandemic it’s more important than ever that the construction industry attracts and retains the talent needed to get Britain building again.”

Vicki Tomlinson – Director of Development & Asset Management, Connexus said:

“I’m excited to join the Project Board at this critical time for the construction sector. Connexus are committed to delivering high-quality affordable housing to local communities across Shropshire and Herefordshire, and I’ll be bringing this same passion, knowledge and experience to MCR Phase II.”

Paul Moran, Business Development Director of Pave Aways & Chair of Shropshire Constructing Excellence said:

“Encouraging and supporting people into careers in construction and reducing the skills gap is vital to creating a sustainable construction industry. This is something that Pave Aways is passionate about and I look forward to putting my skills and experience in the field to good use with the Marches Construction Ready Partnership.”
