Landau’s Training & Enterprise Centre was delighted to welcome Paul Jackson, Director of Bespoke Construction Services Limited, and Steve Trice Project Manager at Bespoke, on Thursday 7th April 2022, as part of the enrichment programme for year 10 Telford Langley pupils. Paul and Steve gave the pupils and insight into how they entered the industry and how their careers have progressed.

Paul Jackson said “It’s good to help in encouraging the next generation of construction tradesmen. The trainees of today will be the backbone of the industry for years to come, so tomorrow starts here, today. Good luck to all of the lads.” Steve Trice commented “The lads were friendly, listened carefully and asked interesting questions. Those are the kind of attributes that will carry them to success in their training.”

The Training and Enterprise centre will deliver an Introduction to construction and give the learners the skills and information needed for a careers in the Construction industry. ‘We really appreciated the time Bespoke Construction Services Limited took to come and visit the centre and our learners, it really brings it to life for the learners and they can relate to people that work in the industry.  We welcome Employers from a variety of sectors to come and speak to our learners and share their story.’

The construction hub will equip learners to be:

Work Ready

The learners will gain an understanding of the construction sector and find out about the types of work and range of roles available. They will gain the skills, qualities and knowledge required for working in the construction industry and have the opportunity to achieve introductory qualifications in construction whilst enhancing their personal development, and their employability.

Site Ready

Covering the essentials of Health and Safety required for working on a construction site, learners will undertake a short course and assessment to gain their CSCS card and safety certificate, to enable them to go on site and to stay safe throughout the working day.

Skills Ready

Developing the practical skills and experience needed to progress onto a job in construction. Learners will be supervised in the centre, developing their skills to progress them into real jobs or apprenticeships.
