Today marks the start of World Autism Awareness Week and we are honoured to support around 3,000 people per year into employment and training.

We have created a series of videos highlighting some of the amazing people we work with starting off with Richard Hemmings, one of our excellent Learning Support Assistants over at our Stoke centre, he also has autism and speaks to Shelbie about what effect this had on his university experience.

The number of students with autism attending university is constantly growing- but with varying levels of support being provided to students. It is therefore understandable why some students may feel apprehensive about choosing university or completing it.

Richard discusses this difficulty but also talks about his enjoyment and how he made the most of his three years working towards a degree.
