Success Stories

Our story begins with a young woman who, despite holding a degree in art, found herself confined to administrative duties in her family’s business due to her anxiety. Her severe discomfort in public spaces significantly limited her ability to pursue her true passion. However, through the dedicated support of her employment advisor, a new path began to unfold.

Meeting regularly in NHS buildings, the advisor and client worked closely to enhance her employment prospects. Together, they revamped her CV, initially focusing on roles like receptionist or administrator, aligning with her previous work experience. Yet, as they delved deeper into her aspirations, it became clear that her true dream was to sell her own art-a dream that had been overshadowed by her anxiety.

The young woman had already taken a significant step by creating a website to display her artwork. Building on this foundation, the advisor explored ways to bring her art into the public eye. Through strategic networking, they secured a meeting with the Events Manager at Maylord Orchards, leading to an incredible opportunity: displaying her artwork in a prominent shop window on Gomond Street, free of charge.

With the support of her family-her father constructed custom plinths for her displays-she took this brave step forward.

The advisor continued to encourage her, facilitating discussions about participating in the Maylord Orchards regular Sunday Market events. This opportunity not only allowed her to showcase and sell her art but also began to rebuild her confidence.

Today, her journey of transformation is evident. Her increased confidence now allows her to meet her advisor in the community, a significant milestone from where she began. Together, they are exploring new strategies to promote her budding art business.

This story highlights the profound impact of tailored support and encouragement. It highlights how, with the right guidance and opportunities, individuals can overcome personal challenges to achieve their dreams. We are immensely proud of her progress and look forward to seeing her continue to flourish in her artistic endeavours.

Let this story serve as an inspiration to us all, a reminder of the incredible resilience of the human spirit, and the boundless possibilities that await when dreams are nurtured with care and support.
